Stellar "Keller"
Helen Keller was born just fine,
Until sickness came and made her blind.
Then more news to make you shed a tear,
The Keller’s baby girl could not hear.
She struggled to learn day and night,
Until Annie came to lead her right.
She was a misfit, and often disobeyed,
But Annie’s discipline came and stayed.
She was educated and became very smart,
And earned her degree as a bachelor in art.
She was disabled, yet she never slowed down,
She could feel your expression, smile or frown.
She learn to do, the same as you and I,
And never complained about her “unworking” eyes.
She fought for politics, and women’s rights,
Never letting a setback control her life.
She died alone in her dark, quiet world,
The story of a deaf, blind girl.

Gonna miss you, GF!
it always hurts when a friend
leaves, whatever the
reason may be.
I am soon to "lose" a very good
friend...Oh, there is always the
hope that there will be a way to
"keep in touch", but we all know
"long-distance friending" is a difficult thing
to pull off.
That is gonna change.
He says I am making too much of this.
Sometimes men simply don't
"get it". And I tell him so.
that has lasted 10 years. *sniff

Weebles wobble but . . .
by the flushing mechanism of a toilet.
He flushed books, toys, his sister's lipgloss
(and basically anything that wasn't nailed down).
Yes. It became a real problem.
We threatened.
We placed locks on the bathroom door, etc. etc.
Still the flushing continued.
3 Weebles down the toilet.
(Does anyone remember,
"Weebles wobble
but they don't fall down"?)
I said, "Just wait till your Daddy
gets home. . .".
knees and began one of the most
serious, solemn prayers I have
ever heard, asking God to please
unplug the toilet before his Daddy
came home.
have God's ear; A child's prayer
is a powerful thing.

Mom's Song
my hair in the bathroom sink.
I hated the process of getting water
(and sometimes soap) in my face.
which calmed me.
Then, when I had children
I would often wash their hair
in the sink.
Guess what I did to calm them?
I sang the same song.

Dirty little secrets
and placed it in a sack
and held it as we drove
from Georgia to Louisiana.
placing my "find" onto the mantle.
Now here's the secret -
"just so"
(facing the back)
