SWEET TEA

Do you drink . . .?

Do you drink Smoothies?

I usually think of Smoothies as being
mainly a sweet treat.

However, a friend told me she
makes hers with fruit, yogurt
and Romaine lettuce.

"Who does that?"
When I did some searching
I found that MANY people
add greens to their smoothies.

Hmmmm.
I know I don't get my share of
fruits and veggies so I was glad
to give this a try.

This was my potion:

Strawberry Activia Yogurt
Banana
Peach
1 C Berries
1/2 C water
Spinach
Sweet & Low pkt.

It was surprisingly VERY tasty
and I've been using it as
a meal replacement for lunch.
This will be a Keeper for me
and I'll be trying some other
combinations.
Do you consider yourself a
"healthy eater"?

My husband has been drinking smoothies with spinach. They really are good. I need to drop 10 lbs, so if this works, I'm willing to try! :)

Also, I surely don't get enough veggies per day!

Keep us informed (or at least me) and let me know if you are losing any weight with this and any other recipes.

Well, my husband (the LOC) loves the Jamba Juice, Verry Berry smoothies, with an extra shot of soy sauce. :)

Me, I'm more of a crunchy type eater. If it doesn't snap, crackle, or pop while I'm munching, I don't feel satisfied. Chips, anyone? :) ...Marsha

Spinach...wow that is very interesting...I like all of the ingredients so it should be good just never thought about doing it.

I am a healthy eater in that I love all fruits and veg and my diet is full of them on a daily basis. I don't do lots of smoothies because I'd rather just eat the fruit or veg. I have never put veggies into a fruit smoothie but people say you can't really taste it. I'd rather have a steaming plate of spinach or a spinach salad than a glass of spinach combined with fruit. That does not appeal to me.

I don't consider myself a healthy eater, but have just started drinking smoothies. Mine consist of 1 cup oj, 1 cup plain yogurt, at least 1 cup spinach or kale. Blend that all together very well--I usually go thru the process twice. Then add about a cup of frozen fruit and a banana. Again, blend twice. It's surprisingly delicious!

When I went to Weight Watchers, they talked about adding veggies to smoothies, such as spinach, carrots, beets to all the yummy fruits and such and surprisingly, you don't taste the veggies. So healthy and adds to the nutrients you need for each day!

What a smart idea. I like greens, but this is so much faster and easier.

I have to say that at first thought a veggie smoothie doesn't sound too appealing, but it really is a great idea and one I will be willing to try. I like the idea of replacing a meal with one.

Smoothies are great. My whole family is into them. My husband's cardiologist says that there is a connection between Smoothies and good cholesterol. He said that he cannot explain how, but fruit anf fiber are good for your good cholesterol and lowering your bad one.

I have never tried a smoothie. I imagine them as being very thick and just a little weird. I've seen pictures of some that look like freshly mowed grass clippings. Okay, I must give them a try! Yours sounded good and I love spinach.

I'm with Marsha..I like foods that crunch but maybe a smoothie is just what I need.

I like the mean green smoothie, but I REALLY like to juice an apple, 3 carrots and a healthy bunch of spinach - the color isn't so great as spinach turns the drink brown but the taste is sweet and phenomenal!
