BOO!
I had a "gall bladder scare".
The day before I was to leave on my
Girl's Get-a-way I began to have
pain where I've never had pain
before. I was in my car, and had my ipad
with me, so I pulled into a parking lot
AND
|
consulted "Dr. Google".
Sure enough the pain was in the exact
place of the gall bladder
and I had classic symptoms. OH NOOOOO!
MY TRIP!!!!
I went home and laid across the bed
and did a lot of praying.
The pain that began around 2 pm
ended around 6 pm.
I got up -
packed my bag
and never looked back.
The next day I felt a little "tender"
where the pain had been,
but since then
I have felt perfect.
'Course now I'm wondering
if this will happen again.
Forgive me the personal question, but,
Do YOU still have your
gall bladder? |

Likely it will happen again (hope NOT) but watching your diet will help.
Yep...still got mine. I think I make it mad sometimes but never had a severe attack.
No...I had mine removed about three years ago. I really hope it doesn't come back - that was really intense pain and I was miserable!
I'm glad you're feeling better and got to have your trip, after all!
It will probably come and go, try to discover what foods trigger an attack and avoid them like the plague. Finally had to have mine removed. Put it this way, when they did the ultrasound, the student said "eewww, what is that!?" Glad that this was fleeting (although I'm sure it didn't feel like it at the time) and that you got to take your trip!

Yep,
My gall bladder and I are still BFFs. Several folks I know have had similar mini episodes like you.
They all eventually had their removed...some sooner than later.
Hugs but not to tight,
Madi and Mom
I still have mine. I have had periods of time when I would have unexplained awful pain. Had a bunch of tests and never found out what it was. I think one of the triggers for those I know with gall bladder problems is greasy food. Which of course is the best food.
Hope you don't have another attack!!!
mines gone.I had no pain but a routine ultra sound for something else discovered a big stone in mine. Then I had one painful painful epeisode, I tried to avoid surgery by following a diet low in fats ,, did that for two years,, ultimately I had it our,, it became infected because the stone was blocking the flow of bile that is made for digestion purposes. It was a simple surgery ,, two little cuts,, no big deal, in and out same day, and just a little sore nothing major,, never even took a tylenol. You'll be fine but if they suggest removal ,, don't be frightened its not bad.
I still have mine.. but sometimes wonder if there's not a problem with it... Hope you're okay now!!!
Yes, I still have mine but I believe that I have had those same pains as you a few years back and so far so good. Hope you are better and no more pain.
Nope, that's one organ I don't have! I had mine out about 11 years ago. Stay away from fatty foods, and if it happens again, consult the dr. CH had his out a few months ago, although I told him years ago to get it looked at. My attacks were so bad that I thought I was having a heart attack. I got deathly sick a couple of times I had attacks. Then I wised up and saw the dr. I had no idea I felt as bad as I did until I had mine out.
Mine has been gone for 30 years and I haven't missed it at all. You will continue to have gall bladder attacks now and again until you have it removed. Once you start having them they get a little worse over time. I now have no problems eating anything where before I had to be careful or fat, greasy foods would set off an attack. Glad you made your trip!
Mine is long gone, but I had the heartburn-type symptoms that felt like I was having a heart attack. Glad you're doing better now. Ill just repeat that you should watch the fatty foods, and don't do a drastic diet (I blame my troubles on Nutri-System, believe it or not).
OH. NO!!!!!!
I still have my gall bladder but I have several friends that don't and it sounded like it was really painful! I hope it (your gall bladder) decided it would rather stick around and will behave itself from now on!
I have mine but I frequently (like today!) help remove them....since I work in surgery. I hope your pain is not a recurring one, but these days it's an outpatient procedure...easy peasy...hopefully!
Bless your heart! I know you had to be scared to death! I am so glad it got better so you could go on your girl's trip!
I am sorry you hurt like that - I wish you would have gone to the doctor Missy.
I do still have mine.
Best wishes.
Love, sandie
still got mine. it is fine. My bladder... it is a weak suck.
My friend recently had hers removed. Her 5 yr old was telling everybody that Mommy got her "gobbler" out. LOL
I had the intense pain but it lasted about 30 minutes and never happened again. I can say that I started experiencing back pain like you would not believe..finally after putting up with it, I went to the doctor. They did an ultrasound and couldn't find anything wrong so I had another test done(can't remember the name) they ran dye through my body and sure enough...my gallbladder was 100% dead and surgery was scheduled...to this day if I eat something really greasy...I'll be in the bathroom shortly afterwards...you probably want to get it checked out just to be safe..good luck!
