SWEET TEA

Sometimes Art imitates life,

But then again,
sometimes life imitates Art,
which was the case when
we visited a local museum
last week while oldest son
was here visiting.

Son (the one to the left of your screen)
imitates Pig (right of your screen).

I (right of screen) imitate
skinny goddess (left of screen).

Princess (left of screen) and her BFF (right of screen)
terrorize sculptured small children (mid screen).

Princess and I thought we resembled
the Mother & Child in this painting.
Yes.
We both have a vivid imagination.

"Gator riding."
Princess has not yet declared a future career path
so this is still a possible option.

For some unknown reason Princess and BFF
thought this was hysterically funny.

"Planking"
This is new to me.
I'm still asking, "What is this?",
and "Why?".

is a Shreveport treasure.
It is open to the public and free.
(Can you believe something is actually FREE?)
We had a fun time roaming the halls
and taking in the beautiful art which
simply goes to prove that it is possible
to have a wonderful afternoon in a museum
even if you have very little actual knowledge
about fine art.

And for the record,
even with all this nonsense,
we were NOT asked to leave.

I swear I think I could hang out with you guys and have the best time! :) And I love that you had to explain which was your son and which was the pig. I'm sure he appreciates that, too. The pig IS cute, but your son is much cuter. :)

Beautiful museum! What fun. I don't get planking, either. But then again, my parents didn't get the Beatles when they were my age. Maybe one has to be young. I could really make my son's day if I sent him a picture of his mom planking!

You are so sweet to check on Gracie!! You're just sweet period!! I guess that's why you're blog is called Sweet Tea... lol.
Gracie is ok today. She just had that one little episode yesterday before dinner and then she was ok. I was freaking out a little because I thought she might have got into the ant traps.. but I don't think that was it. Maybe the heat. Thanks for thinking of her..

I'm surprised you weren't kicked out for riding the art exhibits...must be a really cool place! Looked like a ton of fun. I love museums and you're right, to find one for free is really great! Very cute kiddos by the way..oh, you're cute too!

This post was so fun! I'm still bewildered by the planking fad, but I see it everywhere now :)

Hah!!! Not being escorted form the museum's premises is a win in my books ;)

Thank you for your kind comment on my blog this morning. It really means a lot to have people thinking of us during this sad week xxx

I love museums. I was wondering about the "touching" going on too. Maybe it was encouraged. Love the girls "planking". I don't get it either, but I'm sure they do and loved doing it.

Where are we going next?
