Thanking those (ir)responsible

I'd like to thank all those responsible for the

great success I have had in my

recent gymnastic feat:

My Husband.
Our Refrigerator.

The big puddle of water on the kitchen floor.

Yes, it is true.

Earlier this evening I did a perfect

SPLIT.

One foot went north while the other foot

went south. 

BOOM!!

The ice maker in the fridge is on the blitz.

Husband came in carrying a bag of ice

to put into the freezer.  The bag dripped water

all over the kitchen floor.

Husband failed to wipe up the water.

I came walking into the kitchen. . .

The rest is history.

Husband ran to help me up,

and

 (take a deep breath

as you read this)

he was LAUGHING!!

He's gonna really be sorry he laughed.

It's none of my business but I just have to ask. . .

Jurassic Park, part 2

If you read yesterday's blog post you know

that we HAD, yes, "had"  a guest lizard

in our house.

Said guest made another appearance

early this evening,

again on-the-ceiling.Did I mention we have very high ceilings?

I am so proud of my husband who is

GREAT at thinking outside the box.

Since we couldn't reach the creepy lizard

husband got the wet vac (it has a very long hose)

and managed to suck the lizard into the vac.

I am happy to report the lizard

has been evicted from our house.

I am also happy to report that the

lizard was unharmed

in this covert action.

My own Jurrasic Park.

This guy is alive and well living in my house.

I saw him last night - on the ceiling.

We tried all manner of catching him . . .

but he was faster than we were.

What am I gonna do??????

Hot Flashes during the Summer are brutal.

Here are my own tried & true

Survival Tips.

Pour on water.

Lots of water.

If water doesn't help,

add ICE.

Then have a Margarita.

And another.

And another.

And another.

(it may not ease the Hot Flash

but you won't really care)

"Don't you dare judge me!!"

Repeat after me:

"Stay near a Fan".

Always.

Always.

I love these hand fans.

"I decorate with them."

They're placed all over the house

within easy reach.

These are the BEST!!

A water filled container

with a finger-pump fan

all on a strap that fits around

your neck for convenience.

Fashion be damned.

I have been out in public on a hot day

and had people stop me and ask if

I would give them a spray.

If you're out shopping when you

feel a "FLASH" coming on,

simply step out of your shoes

and let your feet cool on the

tile floor of the store.

"Ahhhhh".

(no one will even notice)

Finding Sarah?

Finding Sarah?

Actually if anyone is looking for Sarah Ferguson she is not hard to find.  I've seen her all over the TV lately making the talk show circuit. 

She's busted.

She's sorry.

She's sad.

She's broken.

She's lost.

She has no money.

She didn't get invited to the wedding.

She can't cook.

I feel badly for the people of Joplin,

and Alabama.

I feely badly for a child I know

who has brain cancer.

I feel badly that people go to bed

hungry at night.

Someone needs to tell Ms. Ferguson

she is a 51 year old woman

and it is time to grow up

and become a responsible adult.

Problem solved.

When things go south for most people they don't have a team of professionals who belly-up to solve their problems.  And, when something is done to hurt one's feelings most people don't jump on a plane and fly to the jungle to become one with nature just "to get away".  And when there is a need for some extra attention most folks don't buy their grown children funny hats which they flaunt on TV to get some media attention.  And when most people run out of money they don't keep spending money they don't have.

Just my perspective.

Our teenage daughter's Bathroom.

This is what my Mama taught me.

And she was right.

A guy from our church youth group
came by the other day, and in due time
he made a trip to the bathroom.
Daughter later told me he told her
at church, "Your bathroom is scarey".
She could care less.Yes.  I'm embarassed.

I was a messy teenage girl.

(though I won't confess that to Princess)

But NOW

I'm one of these -

My Grandma gave this teapot to me

as a wedding gift.

The years have come and gone

and sadly, this teapot has broken.

I have replaced it twice.

Each time I look on ebay or in antique stores

and replace it with one that looks

exactly the same.

As long as I have this teapot

it seems as though Grandma

is close by.
