Our sweet little Haylee Kate is in the hospital.
She is doing what she normally does,
eat/sleep/poop/smile. She doesn't seem to feel bad, but she has an eye infection. They tell us that eye infections are quite serious in a small baby because the eye is located so closely to the brain. This is day #3 there. She is getting huge amounts of antibiotics. Sure hope we can get this under control soon and bring her home. Lil' Mama is staying there 24/7 and her Daddy drove in from TX today to see her. I'm out the door to spend the afternoon with her. Lots of things in this world to pray about, but when you're praying, if you'd add our girl to your list we'd appreciate it! (BTW, nothing wrong with her arm, that's the IV where she gets her meds)

I am so very sorry she has to be there but hopefully she will be home real soon and you can all love on her. That is really nice that her daddy came in from Texas.

It's not enough that we keep our children in our prayers daily, now they go and give us another precious child to love and care about just as much! Will be praying for that beautiful baby girl!

I'm just seeing this and I'm so very sorry. :( Poor little sweetheart! I'm glad she's better now. My Brie was hospitalized with HIB in her eye when she was just a few months old and I remember well how frightening it was. Any infection in the 'triangle' formed by the eyes/nose/mouth area is reason for concern, especially when there is little or no swelling of the lymph nodes in the neck. Infection should be carried away from the area through those nodes and Brie had no swelling in hers at all, meaning the infection could be going to her brain. :( It terrified me. She was on IV antibiotics for almost a week but in the end she suffered no long term effects. We were very blessed!
