SWEET TEA

Baby. Oh baby.

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The Little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky look down where he lay.
The little Lord Jesus, asleep in the hay.

That post got my attention. I was loving those rooms and had picked a favorite (the pink one) but getting to the end just shows what's improtant.

Just like Mari and Just Stuff From a Boomer said, it really did make me stop and reflect on what we call lavish and how Christ came to us in a less than lavish way. Yet, he was the perfect gift for us.

What a contrast. I brought a baby doll and some ripped strips of white fabric to my pre-school Sunday school class last week. Wrapping the baby up and laying it in a manger filled with hay even stirred my heart. He gave up all the glories of Heaven to make a way for us to make it to Heaven. Beautiful post!

Hard to imagine laying down in a smelly barn and giving birth then wrapping your baby in rags and laying him in hay. Jesus is the reason for the season.
