Guatamalan Pancakes

Princess is going to Guatamala this summer on a mission trip with our church. In order to raise $$ for their trip the kids hosted a Pancake Breakfast this morning at Applebees. The older kids took orders and waited on the tables, the younger ones, like Princess, bussed the tables. She huffed, puffed and worked really hard for 2 hours, clearing dirty dishes and wiping sticky syrup off the tables. Upon leaving she looked at me and said, "Gee this was fun!".

Whose child is this?

Found you through BSU - I'm originally from Baton Rouge, but live in North Carolina now.

Your daughter sounds like a fine girl - doing the hard work - bussing tables is not easy - I waited tables for years as a second job after my daughter was born (not fun) she is almost 19 now! I hope they raise all the money they need for their trip.

Hope you can figure out why you're not moving to the top of the list at BSU - come visit if you get a chance.

Visiting from BSU.

I manage a restaurant and I just had one of my 18 year old bussers finally tell me.

"I need to work more. I don't spend money when I work" HA!

Hoping they can fix the glitch over at BSU so you can move up the list :)

It always amazes me that the work is so much more "fun" away from home!?

Hi:) Found you via BSU and so happy I did! I am now a follower of your very lovely blog! I love your background!!!

I loved your post:) My son does the same thing with our churh group fundraisers. They work him to pieces and he thinks he won the lottery. I ask him to put away a sock and it's like I stabbed him in the eye with a dart! lol!

Looking forward to more posts!

I was hoping for an actual recipe for Guatamalan pancakes. :)

I bussed tables once. My first job. I couldn't take it. I lasted a week. The name of the restaurant was The Cow Palace. I still have nightmares.
