SWEET TEA

I'm just a girl who can't say NO!

"I'm just a girl who cain't say no,
I'm in a terrible fix -
I always say "come on, let's go",
just when I oughta say NIX"!

Do you recognize this song from the musical, "Oklahoma"?  I'm originally from Oklahoma and boy does this song ring true to me these days.

"I just can't say no to . . ."

I've gotta find a way to "step away from the sweets", but that's not happened in a very long while.
Can I get an "Amen"?

Just wondering, "Are you a healthy eater?"
Do you eat your greens and lots of colorful antioxidant rich foods on a regular basis?  Do you seldom eat sweets?  Are you aware of your fiber intake, etc. etc. etc.  I would love to be a "Health Nut", and I mean that in the most respectful way.  I wonder how one begins that process?  BTW, I accept "anonymous" comments, just sayin. . .

Not me, friend. I am a "sweet & salty" girl. Chips are my absolute favorite. I'd pick them over ice cream, but now ... I wouldn't turn down ice cream, either.

Like you, I admire people that are so disciplined with what they eat.

I stopped eating ice cream, cookies, cake and pies..as of Jan. I'll have sugar free for a sweet fix....if you can eat carrot and celery sticks, it may help. Carefree gums. I know it's as hard to kick sweets as cigarettes. Holiday time doesn't help much, does it? good luckwith your efforts. xoxo,Susie

I struggle with this and my solution is to not have them in the house.

I do find that after I've done a vigorous bike ride (or really, any kind of exercise), I'm not nearly as hungry for them!

When my kids were little, I'd let them get dessert when we ate out, and I'd just take a taste as "mommy tax". It satisfied the craving without the high calorie intake. You can use with grandolls -- "gran tax."

LOL- I don't eat flour or sugar (MOST of the time) It is easy once you break the habit. I feel so much better when I don't indulge- xo Diana

Do you eat that way because of health issues or for weight management. So what sort of things do you eat on a typical day? You can email me privately if you want.

I've done the low carb..no sugar thing many times and have found success...only to find myself going back to bad eating...I'm like you, I have a hard time saying no...maybe I'll get back on the wagon again one day and it will be for good..just not today I guess! That song reminded me of a good friend of mine who sang it at a church talent show..she was 81/2mo. pregnant at the time and the whole place just laughed like crazy..it was funny!

On a "normal" day, I start my day with a blueberry smoothie, made with almond milk and a protein mix. I allow myself one square of dark chocolate. Lunch is peanut butter and honey on whole grain toast. I do count fiber intake. I love vegetables with my fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy.
Unfortunately, the last few weeks we have had company and I can't seem to say no to baking and eating desserts and ice cream. I am beginning to feel like Yaya's friend who sang that song.
I need to get back on track.

I can't say no either although I love sweets, I also love anything salty. I need to find more healthier alternatives. The pictures made my mouth water.

I love sweets so if they are in the house, I'm eating them. I try not to have them around.....but I do indulge every once in a while.

First of all I love the movie "Oklahoma", second those desserts look delicious. I recently had my first piece of cake at my dads 90th birthday party after dieting for the last 17 months. (Actually I had some low carb cheesecake a few times) Yes I am watching my food intake! Now when I reach my goal weight I think I will sneak a sweet more often.
