Dear Bloggy Friends,
You are some of my very favorite people
and I simply LOVE reading and hearing
what is going on in your world!
I also love your comments on my Blog.
It's the back & forth interaction
that I find so rewarding!
Ab-so-lute-ly LOVE IT!!
That said, I'm having trouble posting my
all important, earth-changing comments
to many of your Blogs.
I know you miss me when my comment
is not there. How you make it through
a day with out my input is a mystery to me.
(OK, I exagerate a little.)
Maybe I'm missing something here.
But, is it necessary to have "word verification"?
And what about Disqus -
there's no such thing as quick & easy
in commenting on Disqus.
And, "choose a profile" - lately when
I try to do this it simply erases my comment
rather than posting it. I'm having a difficult
time staying connected with some of my
very favorite blogging buddies because
of all the "stuff".
I don't have any of these on my Blog
(and never have) and have had no
trouble with spam. Blogger does a great
job at filtering anything questionable.
Really!
If you doubt me, then
simply give it a try for a few days
and see what sort of results you have.
OR
simply change your setting to
require your permission before
the comment shows.
Would this be something you could
consider?
Now, would you all join me around the campfire
for a verse of of "Kum-by-yah".
Don't be mad at me.
And please don't boycot me -
as in any relationship I simply feel
that honesty is best, so I felt the
need to share.
I think most of us have just "so much time"
to read and comment and we could visit
and make more Bloggy friends if we kept
the commenting process EASY.
Doncha think?
Are we still FRIENDS?
I think you're totally
In-cred-oubl-li-cious
regardless of what you decide!
I'd love your input on this!

Word verification annoys me so I moderate the comments on my blog to prevent spam or blog trolls from ruining the experience.
As far as Pick a Profie?....if you are already logged into blogger you shouldn't have to go through that step. You are already in your acct...right?
AMEN! I will never have any of those things on my blog either. They drive me crazy, and I hate having to retype some crazy string of letters several times to get my comment through. And like you said - sometimes it never goes through!
I've not had trouble on my bog either - it always puts the crazy comments in the spam folder.
I'm having that same issue. Even when I am logged on and choose my profile, my comment gets erased.
I have started posting as anonymous, but typing my blog address below.
This week I tried to go without word verification. Within minutes of having freedom reign in comments, I had two innapropriate comments. So, I put it back up.
If people don't accept anonymous comments, I can't comment at all.
That's why I call this BLOGGGGRRRRR.
It can bo SO frustrating!
Has this been happening on my blog, by any chance? My comments have gone way down, and I wasn't sure if it was content or technicalities.
I've read on several bloggie friends blogs of having trouble leaving comments. On one that said she was having trouble leaving a comment...I couldn't leave a comment on HERS. I too have had inappropriate comments when I take down security and such. I hope my comments are able to go through here and you know I LOVE hearing from you!
Hugs~
I hear ya...word verification bugs me, pick a profile...well if I am already on I don't understand the need for that. Now I have to admit, I just read a blog that had Disqus and thought about that for my own blog but I think simple is better. We'll see.
I really love this post because I have been having the same issues. And, frankly, comments are half the fun of blogging.
I had that same problem on blogger. I found that if I do not check the Remember Me square, I could leave comments where I couldn't belfore. It is a pain for me to have to sign in at the beginning, but that's the best I could find to fix my problem.
I know it can kick you out and create a vicious circle... I'll see what I can do about getting rid of the word verification thing.
Keep saying this every once in awhile. I've lost comments I was writing while doing all the 'hoops' and I just leave the site, don't want to write again.

I completely sympathize! I especially hate when I have to sign in to comment (which is annoying, as I have to first sign out of my open e-mail and switch to an old one) and THEN there's word verification. You just made me sign in, isn't that enough proof I'm a real person?
I think the problem is with Blogger itself. I had a lot of glitches a few months back. Now that everything is resolved, I cannot tell Blogger (when I'm signing in) that I want to stay logged into my account or I have the same problems as you're having.
The word verification is there, I believe, to keep out spam and inappropriate comments. Some people would not feel comfortable without it there.
I hope this helps you.
I've had problems on a few blogs when I hit publish comment it all vanishes. I agree about the word verification I cut that off months ago. I hope your troubles will end soon.
Hugs Madi and Mom
Totally agree! And I really don't understand those who have word verification AND owner approval. I got a few weird comments when I first started my blog, but have had no further problems since disallowing anonymous comments.
I think it is funny that you think that I could purposely do any of those things...ha ha. I am such a blogger knucklehead. I barely know how to push the post button. I will certainly go and poke around and see if I have any of those thing-ys but for the record I thought a disqus was one of those frisbee-like things that you threw at the olympics.
Thanks for the post and for teachin' me a thing or two!!
The past year has been pretty bad with blogger - The first few years no problem. I'm not sure what is going on. sandie
I got rid of the word verification and hopefully it helps. I hate it too! But I do love my fellow bloggers! Have a great week!
Thank goodness it's not just me...I can never comment with Pick a Profile as it never lets me in, this is when I am already in my acct..I too havn't been able to comment on a lot of blogs..
I would deffs miss your comments on my posts, thanks for sticking with me even when I am so slack at returning...
Now about my mulberries, when there are some left we make jam with them. The children tend to eat them as fast as they rippen though...
Have a great day...Mandy
Amen sister!!! I have nothing and rarely get a 'spamed' comment. In the past when I did, I just trashed it and went on.
I have a problem with those who comment and or follow yet have left their profile blank so you cannot 'thank' them for their visit.
God bless ya and have a marvelous day!!! :o)
I hear you. I don't have any of those things on my blog. It just isn't necessary. I've found I cannot comment on any blogs that have the comment embedded. If there is no pop up box, there is no way to get around it. I've tried everything suggested and the only solution is for those blogs to change their setting to not embed comments. I hate to ask.... so I send them emails with my comments.
I have lots of problems posting to peoples blogs too! Same thing happens,,,my comment just disappears! There went all my words of wisdom! Not sure what happens but it is frustrating.
Like you and so many above I have been told to pick a profile when I am already logged in and have gotten stuck in the loop that goes nowhere.
I am not a word verification fan and Blogger does seem to catch most spam.
I agree with you... and I love how you got the message across! heehee.. You are so sweet. I'll bet you were like.. May Queen in School weren't you? Or.. Class President? Gotta Love ya!!
I hate word verifications - they take up too much time! I haven't experienced the trouble - maybe because I'm on a Mac? I don't know, but I'm with you. I think all of the nonsense at the end before you can post is annoying.
Oh, I absolutely despise word verification. I use blog owner approval. All the span automatically goes to the spam folder. Works for me!
I agree. Some of the 10 letter non words I have to spell to leave a comment drives me nuts.
