SWEET TEA

This too shall pass. . .

Our teenage daughter's Bathroom.
Yes, there's more . . .

*sigh

This is what my Mama taught me.
And she was right.

A guy from our church youth group
came by the other day, and in due time
he made a trip to the bathroom.
Daughter later told me he told her
at church, "Your bathroom is scarey".
She could care less.Yes.  I'm embarassed.

I was a messy teenage girl.
(though I won't confess that to Princess)

But NOW
I'm one of these -

CHANGE CAN REALLY HAPPEN.

Were you neat as a Teenager?
How about now?
*this is a totally non-judgemental zone*

Ummmmmmm, when does that "changing" thing start happening? I'm 41 and still a slob.....but at least I'm embarrassed if anyone else sees it! LOL

Oh yes, I was messy but like you change happened. Now I'm a "make me bed everyday" kinda gal.

Unfortunately I think I went the other way round. My room always used to be neat when I was a teenager but although my bedroom still is the rest of the house is taking a bit of a hammering at the moment! Six adults and a baby in one place takes its toll! ;) xxx

I think it's a teen thing. I wasn't neat as a kid and now I'm more so..but no freak.

My DD has a messy bathroom and bedroom. Once a boy came by and had to use the bathroom. Later I found my DD had left her dirty clothes, including her underwear, on the floor for him to see. I don't think she'll do THAT again! lol

I was a neat one. I shared a room and a bed with my sister. I was known to make half the bed...the other half was hers.

Of my 3 adult daughters, 2 have matured out of the science projects gowing in their bedroom phase to neatniks. The 3rd is my free spirit. We're all hoping she discovers hangers sooner rather than later.

That's looks exactly like my daughter's room as a teenager! When she moved out, we had to repaint walls and replace carpet! Now she is much cleaner with her own home. As a teenager myself, I had to have a neat room to study. That meant stashing everything (including pizza and hammers) either under the bed, in the closet floor, or in dresser drawers. Ahh, nice and neat, now I can play. But Mother always knew where to look and when she got through throwing everything into the middle of the room I had a few hours of cleaning to do. I think she just needed to chill and let it all pass.

I was a neat teenager. My parents wouldn't have it any other way. If I didn't make my bed, my dad would have lectured me so I learned quick..lol! Etc, etc...

NOW? Still neat! I actually go on ranting fits if my husband or daughter leaves their stuff lying around cause I get so sick of picking up after them all the time. Sure, I have my "messy" moments, don't we all but it usually doesn't last long. I get all nervous if my house is a wreck. Drives me NUTS!!!! LOL

I was a neat kid (in more ways than one...hee..hee) and I'm worse as an adult. My mother would have curled up and died at a bathroom or bedroom like that. And for a visitor to see it? Yikes!

I was horribly messy - the bed didn't sit on the floor because of all the things I had shoved under it messy. But it all changed - the minute I had a house of my own. The funny thing is - it changed with my messy daughters when they moved out also.

Ahh yes! that was another house rule. Shared a room with my sister and bathroom (we only had one) must be neat. When I moved away from home, I was very messy, but changed back to neat when I got married. I love a clean house. :) (Can't keep the bed made up all the time though cause DH loves to take naps.)

I was more messy when I was a teen but now, I'm closer to being a neat freak. My mom used to be on both my sis and I about cleaning up but I think that we turned her out most of the time.

I was definitely messier as a teen, than I am now. I think that is normal..for every teen. As a teen though, I didn't have my own bathroom, so I wasn't allowed to be messy in the bathroom.

Kids are like boomerangs - they keep on coming back. At this moment my once-empty nest has welcomed back our 29-year-old daughter are her two rambunctious boys, one about to turn 9, the other just 13 months old! The house is always a mess! I am always tired. But, I go to bed a night with the biggest smile because I love them!

I just happened upon your blog because I was googling "Messy Teen!" LOL I'm trying to find a way to help her get neat and stay that way! She's 16 and her room is awful and she's ALWAYS losing things!!! It's a problem....What did I do wrong??! THISTOOSHALLPASS, THISTOOSHALLPASS~~I"ll keep saying it over and over. :)
