Rosie

Mister and I have toyed with the thought of buying a new car.  The time was right, so I'm now driving around in my new ride.  We are a Honda family, so the choice of cars was easy once we decided to "take the leap".

"Rosie"

"Oh, I love my Rosie child
You got the way to make me happy
You and me, we go in style
Cracklin' Rose, you're a store-bought woman
You make me sing like a guitar hummin'
So hang on to me, girl
Our song keeps runnin' on."

Neil Diamond sang (and wrote) this song.  If you're of a certain age then I'm sure you remember it.  The song was written about a a deep, red, wine, Cracklin' Rose'.  Given the color of my car, I thought it was fitting.  I'm hoping "Rosie" lasts a very long time and gives us mile after mile of safe travel.

Just wonderin'. . .
"Do you name your car"?
I'd love to hear your vehicle's name and why you chose it.
Also, is yours a male or female?  *giggle

So funny...I had a shortbed Chevy truck, that I called Fat Herby. That was because of the tires. I drove that truck for 11 years. Trusted going to work in it . Enjoy your Rosie. xoxo, Susie

I don't name my cars, but I have probably called them a few unsavory names when they didn't work right.
Enjoy your new Rosie.

My Mother-in-law always named her cars and I thought that was so funny! I never named my cars but my hubby does..he named his old van "rattlesnake"..or maybe we named it that because of how it sounded! I don't know if he's named his new ride yet. Your car is really pretty and I know it will be a good cruise. I love Neil Diamond...best concert I ever went to when I was young..and so was he!

What a pretty color! We don't generally call our vehicles by name but when I got my first Prius a friend referred to it as the Black Pearl (we're pirates - ha!). We recently traded it in on a new Prius. It's also black but I haven't seriously considered a name. Now you've got me thinking...

Rosie certainly is a good looking gal! Our current car isn't named, but its predecessor's name was Dependable Dan - see, some cars are guys, too!

Love the new ride and the name, cuz yes I do remember that song!! I name everything. We have Cami the Camry, Big Truckee the truck and Blue the explorer. I also name my sewing machines, heck thanks to bladder cancer, I named my bladder betty and my friend even call her that, they ask if she's being a bitch or if she's in a decent mood when I'm going through chemo. All in good fun. Hugs!!

What a neat car! I love it. Yahoo Rosie!
When we moved to Washington, we sold my car and just use Gs. Since we both walk to work and live in a highly walkable town, ours isn't used much. Even the grocery store is across the street.
Silver is our car's name and we hope it lasts for 10 years or more.

I once had a red sports car I named Scarlett (as in Gone With The Wind) Which reminds me... I haven't named my new blue Hyundai yet. I think I shall name her Heaven. (My Blue Heaven) My Mom once named our house My Blue Heaven (LOL) because it was blue.
BTW - I love the name Rosie. She looks like a Rosie. Sweet! And of course I remember Neil Diamond's song!

My husband names cars as does my daughter, lol. I just go along for the ride. Or slap bumper stickers on it's behind! Your car looks beautiful and I love Honda's as well! I have named our GPS, so when she talks to me or gets pissy I can call her out on it...Lucy...as in Lucy Goosey cause she can sometimes be a tad 'off' on her directions!
Enjoy your Rosie...also 'Rambling Rose' came to mind...lol!
Hugs~

I never knew that about the Cracklin' Rosie song!
That's a beautiful car and we had an amazing Honda Hybrid that I loved. We don't name our cars, but one of my friends ALWAYS names hers, and she is currently driving "Cutie Pie." The Highway Patrolman who pulled us over one day found that pretty amusing.

I don't name my cars, but now I have that earworm...thanks. Seriously -- I love ND.

I want to know what your mom says about getting in that strange car with that strange man...

I get that Honda family thing - we are a Toyota family.

Blessings to you all, and enjoy Rosie!

Well, one mystery in my life is solved: I never knew what the heck that song was about! We just got a new Ford Edge (the mister's) and I have a Mazda Miata. Neither have names, but we treat them kindly as we would any loved one. As you can see, we have no allegiance to any one make of car - although I'd love to have one with BMW, Audi, or Mercedes!
