I am on "the pill".
No uterus = no sleep.
I take Ambien each night.
I take it then it takes about an hour
for it to completely "kick in".
for it to completely "kick in".
During this hour
I usually read or watch TV.
If the phone rings I'll talk,
and I'm told I make perfect sense
I do sans pill
Sometimes I eat a snack. etc. etc.
The thing is, the next day I usually
don't remember
don't remember
much of what I've done during this hour.
So, I have to re-watch TV programs,
re-read my books,
figure out what I ate (by looking at
the crumbs on the counter, etc. etc)
If family or friends call they ask
"Have you taken your pill yet?".
If the answer is "yes",
they simply say they'll call back
tomorrow, 'cause they know
I won't remember the conversation
and they'll have to repeat it all anyway.
I needed to tell you this so you
can understand . . .
"the rest of the story".
To be continued tomorrow -

I take Ambien very occasionally, and was really surprised at its effects. Can't wait to hear your part 2~
No can't say I've tried that little jewel. I can usually take an Advil and it helps me to relax and sleep. Afraid I might not be able to function the next day.
How funny!!! And my sister takes something similar, and I ask her the very same question, "Have you taken your pill yet?" and if she has we hang up. :)
Looking forward to the rest of the story. :)
Well, now I want to hear the rest of the story with this cute lead in.
I have never taken a sleep aid.
I've taken Ambien before so I reallllly hope this has a happy ending.
xoxo jj
This cracks me up because just last week a friend told me that she has to hand her husband the phone, keys and credit cards BEFORE she can take her little pill. :)
I have never taken ambien. If I can't sleep I usually take Melatonin it is a herb (pill form) and it really helps me sleep. 15 minutes after taking it, I am fast a sleep and usually sleep til morning, unless the occasional mid~night potty break.
Oh, I know this sounds goofy, but I give Ambein to my dog when we have a summer storm...It really helps her calm down and relax.
Glad it is working for you.
Happy Wednesday!
You tease...I hope you didn't take Ambien before you wrote your post...lol!
Hugs~
my hubs who is on the night shift just started taking ambien....look fw to pt 2
Uh-Oh- I'm hoping you didn't end up in a strip club doing a pole dance while you were under the influence!;>) xo Diana
wow, I can't wait to hear the rest of this!
I have only taken it once....when I was overseas. I was told I did some strange things in the night.
I take one every night too. Wishing I could break free. Look forward to hearing how your experience compares to mine. Melatonin and Valerian cause me to have very strange and scary nightmares.
I've never taken anything to sleep. I'm like a doll whose eyes are open when in an upright position, then just lay me down and I'm out! Working in surgery you learn to sleep when you can..sometimes it's standing up! I'm looking forward to the rest of this story!
I'm looking forward to your story because I've had friends that do some pretty wacky things on Ambien!
Can you buy this magic potion in bulk. I will be back for part 2 before I order. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
OH gosh you left us hanging....
I have a friend who took Ambien once
her husband awoke to her standing in the middle of the bed waving her arms. She told him she was fight the fan people. Good thing the fan was off.
Hugs C
Oh my..I will be back!
I take it every night too. However, unless I have had a glass of wine with dinner - I remember everything. It does take about an hour to kick in. And it only last for 5 hours for me.....if I am lucky!
You know those are true friends when they say they'll call you back if you've had your pill!
