Looks like copper to me too. I'm surprised you got it for 99 cents though cause out here, there have been a rash of thefts going on at churches (very sad) for the copper pipings for how much the thieves can get for it.

It sure looks like copper to me. I would take some cleaner to it, and see how it polishes up. That is also a quick way to find out.

That is so awesome for 99 cents! I love cooper and have a Revere ware whistling tea kettle. I collect pennies and save them then wrap them and take them to the bank! I saw Kimmy's comment and it is sad because we see that everyone. People stealing from public parks and homes and churches looking to make fast cash on cooper piping. Even park benches and sculptings made of wrought iron!
