SWEET TEA

Monday, October 10, 2011

Hi Ho. Hi Ho. To Tulsa we did go.

What a "grand" time we had in Tulsa
over the weekend as our family
celebrated our Granddoll, Paige,
on the occasion of her
11th Birthday!

From a happy, ever-sleeping, adorable baby,
to a fun loving, easy-going,
pretty "tween".
Oh-how-I-love-this-girl!
What a blessed time it was celebrating her!

The drive to Tulsa
from my car window.
Was it boring?
You be the judge.

So, what's the verdict?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I Confess
"I am not a good traveler.
I have the attention span
of a gnat and find it extremely
difficult to stay boxed up in the car
for a prolonged period of time."

But I'd walk on glass to
see this pretty gal celebrate her
birthday.
Happy Birthday Paige!
Thankful we got to share
your special day with you.

Yup, it did look a bit boring but the north eastern part of the state would be loverly! Glad you visited our fine town for that "grand" birthday! Carla

Sweet Tea,
We were in Tulsa, or near there in Muskogee, last spring and you are right, it isn't very interesting territory.

BUT the "granddoll" was sure worth the trip! :) And what a cute nickname. I love it!

I am with you - I have no patience on car rides - but we do it because of love.

Happy Birthday Paige. Hope you had a great one.

Each year we go to Mississippi, and the drive from Dallas to Shreveport is agony. The most boring stretch of interstate ever! Then, after we cross the river and head to Jackson there's nothing to see because the trees and kudzu are so thick it's like driving in a tunnel. Oh well, like you said. Special people make it worth the drive. What a precious grandaughter you have. Glad you made yourself miserable for 8 hours to go see her!

Happy Birthday to the Granddoll.
You might have been bored but you had BBQ chips to pep you up and pretty toes to look at.

What a beautiful granddaughter you have there...yes a real doll! I love your nickname for her and all your 'dolls'!
I get bored going to the cleaners around the corner so I can understand the boredom to Tulsa. Thank goodness you have a lovely family waiting...making it all worth the ride!

Hugs!

Very similar to our ride last week to Tulsa from Dallas--everything was brown and crunchy looking--dismal. And the South Canadian River had dried up. But, as you said, it was worth the trip to be with family and back in Tulsa Town. Your granddaughter is a cutie and sounds like you all had a great week-end.

Oh, I love Tulsa. We went there two weekends ago. I adore the Philbrook. Do you ever go there?

I love hearing that you have been to Tulsa since I hardly ever go there any more. Sorry the drive was so boring, but worth it to celebrate with your special girl.
Happy birthday to Paige.

How wonderful that you were able to celebrate the day with her. I have been to Tulsa several years ago..it was on a day when it was 112 degrees at 10am!;>O

She looks to be a tall girl for her age and quite a lovely young lady. Don't you find that a granddaughter is just one of the biggest blessings in life?

Hope you have a great week-xo Diana

It looked a little boring, but it looked like you had some fine snacks aboard with you! That will cure just about anything! How wonderful you were able to share Paige's birthday with her - very special.

It may have been a boring drive but the end result of spending time with your granddaughter has to be priceless. She is such a pretty girl.

I agree.....I'm a terrible traveler! I can't read in the car because I get motion sickness.....so I usually sleep! But I also agree that I would do ANYTHING to spend time with my grandchildren!
