Come Out! Come Out! Wherever you are!

There's something in the October air that beckons
Thrifter's to
"Come Out!  Come Out!  Wherever you are!".
I met these lovely girls and I loved them immediately.
Granted, they were no "spring chickens" having been
"round the coop" more than once.
(I knew this because there were garage sale
stickers alongside the thrift store stickers.)
For $1 a piece they have found a new place
to roost at my house!

Then I stumbled upon this little trio
of reminders for $1.99.
"I wonder who took the time to painstakingly
stich their little message?"

This little guy
was a loner,
but I've got plans to make him over
and find him a mate.
Perhaps a Fall candle or a pretty little dish
placed a top will complete him.
Lots of possibilites for only $1.

The fun of the search;
the thrill of the find!

When I've dusted and found a permanent
place for my new treasures I'll
post some photos of them
in their new places of honor.

Do you like to thrift?
What's your choice of venue:
garage sale, yard sale,
estate sale, thrift store?
OR
maybe you've got a secret place
you hunt for your finds?

Look at you! Getting all thrifty and crafty on us. You know I'm a junker through and through. I found a huge box of old sheet music recently for $40. That's a lot more than I usually spend, but I just couldn't resist. Most of it is in good condition and the owner wrote on the covers when she bought it. Some go back to the early 20s! I'm thinking of selling some on eBay.

LOVE all of your finds! Isn't it great to find a new treasure? I mostly shop at thrift stores and occasionally yard sales. Sometimes I find incredible things!

Those are great! I love the cross stitch pieces. Once upon a time....in one of my phases, I cross stitched....but I wouldn't have done away with any one of them....too much work!

I don't get up (sadly) early enough or have the get up and go to garage sale, but I do love to wander through the antique stores around town.

Oh,, yes. I've been of thrift shopper and antiquer all my adult life. The first piece of furniture I bought, at 20 yrs. old and I still have it, was an old sectretary. I am always on a treasure hunt. Love your chicks. Having been around the coop awhile myself, I can relate.

I like it all but I enjoy when I can get someone to go with me because I am literal, if it is a suitcase...it is a suitcase where someone else can see it as something else and that gives me great ideas.

Since I moved to the PNW I have been totally disappointed in thrift stores and garage sales. They just don't have the good junk and the good prices out here! I SHOP like crazy when I am back in the midwest. Most of the dishes I collect were premiums in cereal or detergent, and I just don't find them out here. Glad you found some treasures.

Mom doesn't thrift or yardsale or antique...she says she already has enough stuff that she should probably discard.

You are right. Must be something in the air.

I'm always driving by garage sales telling myself I will stop on the way back, but I almost never do. Your cute finds may be the incentive I need to stop next time.

I had an antique store for years. Junk is my lifeblood. Oh, and coffee. And Jesus. Amen.

I'm always envious of people who find good things in thrift stores and garage sales. Sadly, I'm not one of them. Although I did find a cute little Roseville bud vase once. That was a good day.

My latest decorating treasure is a $1 water bottle (shiny red) found at Dollar tree this summer, with small flowers purchased at Michael's (2 at $1.29. Also, used some clearanced candles found about 10 years ago at Pottery Barn. Fall decorating is done...

I totally love going to thrift stores and yard sales. I usually get lost in thrift stores, rummaging through goodies. The problem is, there are so many thrift stores here in Oregon that it can be dangerous unless I have space and of course money.

Cute roosters. Those look pretty old.

I love to thrift... and I love every different venue! I have a habit of 'dragging stuff in' then 'dragging stuff out' because I can't stand the clutter.. lol. Love your finds!!

Those cute lil chicks are sweet! You made a beautiful choice. I love thrifting! I just found four s/p shakers that are lil Hallmark turkeys. I paid $1 for them. The retail sticker was on the box, $12.95! My mom had those little s/p shakers and set them on opposite ends of the table at Thanksgiving. Woo Hoo
