Just wondering aloud...why do we always have someone read a ditzy poem after the President is sworn in?
It's embarassing.
I don't care how well you ennunciate or how high-falutin' you look, a bad poem is still a bad poem. It just doesn't seem the time nor the place for some "poet?" to read their original creation, especially when it's strange.
And doesn't anyone check in advance to make sure the poem even makes some sense.
Obviously not.
I'm just sayin. . .
God Bless America!!
Still a Great Inauguration Day!

I thought her enunciation was the worst part. No one in my house liked that part either.
Clicking over from Blog Stalkers Unite. I keep getting an error, indicating that there is no feed for your blog. Which makes it so your blog doesn't update on the BSU front. Can you please email me so we can resolve this? Blogstalkersunite@hotmail.com
Thanks!

I imagine she will be named the poet laureate and then what? I was definitely not impressed. I actually enjoy poetry, but not hers. It was really unfortunate that her introduction to the country was one that sounded very jr. high.
Oh, and thanks for coming by blog is my copilot! I'll be announcing my first ever "Official Co-Pilot" on Monday!
I agree with Debbie. The enunciation killed me! I kept thinking she needed to quit reading a bunch of words and start reading actual phrases. It was ongoing torture, for sure!
Found you on BSU!
I am sooo glad I am not the only one who thought that poem was BAD!
The way she read that poem was horrible too....I couldn't wait for it to be over.
I agree...the rest of the inauguration was great...well except for when Aretha sang. Anyone understand a word she sang?
Great blog...keep up the great work!!!
My 5 year olds are better on the phonics than she was :-) It was painful...
I completely agreee!!! I HATED that poem...I could have written a better one...they should've asked me...
what were they thinking?!
Just visiting from BSU!
visiting from BSU, and I TOTALLY agree. we all watched the whole thing at work and all of my co-workers just looked around at each other, completely confused. She didnt read it well at all either.
