Life in the random Lane. ZOOM!

Thank you for all the comments yesterday!
I have the smartest blog friends - for sure.
You told me about a great website for
recipes. . .And, I had no idea that
Taco Bell made a meatless taco!
Wonderful suggestions for some meatless
meals too.

I've been sitting in front of the mirror practicing
my meanest teacher look.
I homeschool Princess.
School begins on Aug 8.
I think I've just about got "the look"right.  Doncha' think?

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I told you earlier in the week that Princess
was at camp this week.  This means that
I am Boudxy"s (her beloved pooch)
Caregiver.
Being the good caregiver that I am
I took Boudxy for his usual walk yesterday.
We had only been home from the walk
about 20 min when I noticed one of his
eyes was swelling.  Ten minutes passed
and his eye had turned red and was
almost completely swollen shut.
YIKES!!
We think he may have gotten
into some fire ants or been stung by
a wasp or bee.

I gave him some Benedryl and put some
allergy eye drops in his eye. (the drops
were for a dog we used to own).
Happy Ending - the eye was back
to normal this morning.  WHEW!

Perhaps from now on you might
want to refer to me as
"SWEET TEA the VET".  K?
I kinda like that.

I'm off now to color my hair
and get rid of all the gray.
"I use Preference,
because I'm worth it".

Do you color your hair?
What Brand/color do you use?

* * * * * * * * * * * *
Perhaps I should be called
"Ms. SWEET TEA, VET & HAIR COLORIST"!
What do you think?

Do you FACEBOOK?
Most of my "real life" (?) friends
do not.
I'd sure like to connect with
some of YOU on FB.
If you're interested please mention
this in your comment
and we can trade info
through email.
Interested?

I mostly use L'Oreal (because I'm worth it). But sometimes, I use a cheaper/on sale brand AND spend what I've saved on a Laura Second French Mint chocolate bar or a huge chai latte -- because I'm worth it!

Your mean teacher look is perfection. ;)
And I do color my hair because I have so much gray in just a few places. It drives me bonkers because my gray can't be normal...it has to go off in directions that the rest of my hair would never dare! Like Brillo, it is. But I have it done in a salon because the only times I've attempted it myself I have turned a brilliant shade of ORANGE. Looks great on a popsicle, not so great on me. :)

I confess. I spend a lot of money for highlights. I haven't put color on my hair since I tried Summer Blonde in high school and my hair turned orange!

And yes - you have the mean teacher look down, but somehow I don't quite believe it!

My hat's off to you for home schooling Princess. I kknow I would not have had the discipline, plus, I was always working so I guess that's another reason, but even if I wasn't, I don't think I could do it.

I started getting gray in high school so I colored my hair off and on until I was 30 and then it was totally on. Last summer I decided I had had enough so I quit. My hair stylist did heavy highlights so when the gray grew out, it wasn't so stark. I still have my natural dark brown in the back but slat and pepper elsewhere. I'm still not sure I will keep it, but I like the not worrying about my roots showing part.

Stop by..I have someting for you.

I am glad the pooch is okay....that must have been scary, but he was lucky to have such a good vet.
I have been trying to figure out a way to quit coloring my hair. I haven't seen the real color for years, but I'm sure the primary color is gray. I can't figure out a way to quit without looking like a skunk for months on end.

I love your blog! Yes, I FB - Friend me!

I hate the maintenance of hair coloring but love the look, so I must keep it up. I go to our local beauty collage and they do a great job. Touch-ups are only $23.00 but now it's getting expensive because I show grey every 4 weeks. So I opted for highlights (I hated the wait) and now I don't think I need to go in as often. However, I did just do my own root touch-up, Clariol for only $5.99. Ah, the work that goes into staying young!

I'm waaay to chicken to color my hair myself. I have highlights in my hair, but I get somebody to do it. But, I think it's time to face reality and color, not just highlight.
Impressive about doctoring the dog. I probably would've freaked out and called the vet right away.
I FB...e-mail your info to me and I'll send a request your way...that is, if you want to. :D

Good job on the dog 911...yes, I color my own hair with Loreal..but not the regular one..I can't think of the name to save me life right now...old age and gray hair=no memory I guess!

I am so glad the pup is okay! And would you home school my grandson ? Teehee

That teacher looks tough - can;t imagine you look that way!

Oh, good vet! No, I quit coloring my hair 5 1/2 years ago. It's not nearly as grey as I thought it would be, but I love saving the money! I had a few disasters with self coloring!

I so admire you homeschooling parents! And I think that look will do nicely!

I color my hair, however I have been known to breakdown and go to a pro for help as well. I tend to buy my hair color from Sally's since I dye my hair red, I think the pro color from Sally's tends to keep the "brightness" of my red longer. The price is comparable to loreal.

I used to color my hair....with whatever I decided to try. I have not colored in a few years...and am white now at 58. I occasionally think of returning to brown....but usually decide no.

Oh you bet I FB. Just started this year. I still prefer blogging, but it's like blogging is shorthand, right? Hmm well let me know if you wanna follow on FB and umm I have a verrrry wonderful fella that makes my gray vanish into the hinterlands. (I've been known to turn my hair green when I attempt to do this myself).

Hugs~

Ahhh, a woman who wears many hats! LOL I used to color my own hair, but it always turned out some really weird color, so I've started paying someone to do it for me. Until yesterday, it worked out fine, but my hair looks like crappola right now. AND, we are having pictures made tomorrow. YIKES! Hoping I can work some magic on my hair tomorrow!
