The things you posted about summer are some of my favorites, but my top season is fall. Love the cooler weather, college and high school football games, and the holiday seasons.
I also love summertime...the sounds of locusts during the day, warm nights out on the deck with a glass of wine, tree frogs a chirpin, flipflops, lightweight clothing, green on the trees and flowers everywhere, Independence Day fireworks!
Definitely fall. :) I live in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia, where the mountains come alive with color! There's nothing like the smell of woodsmoke in the cool breeze while cottonball clouds float across a bright blue sky; fodder shocks and pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn; hay rides and hot cider; soft, warm, well-worn sweaters. <3 Love me some fall! :)
Maybe it's because I grew up and have always lived in The South...but I, like you, am all over Summertime! The other seasons offer a nice respite from the heat...but summer's heat bakes my bones so they loose winter's ache. Summer's heat makes the cool ocean water welcome...the salty beach air heavier and lighter all at the same time. Yes'm its all summer for this ole Southerner!
Spring and Fall are my favorit seasons. I say both because we don't have either very long. My personal machinery works best in temps between 70 and 75. LOL that rarely happens in NC Hugs C
There are no real seasons in Southern California, but I have to say that summer is my favorite. I look forward to having daylight until 8pm, frozen bananas on Balboa Island, family BBQs, bonfires with s'mores on the beach at night with the foamy waves glowing in the moonlight. Even though I don't have a real summer vacation as a grown up, the season just feels a little more free and irresponsible - starting with flip flops.
We were just talking about our favorite season today during lunch! I LOVE the Fall! Football, the smell of fall, the leaves falling, sweatshirts & jeans. LOVE IT!
It's funny, when I was younger I loved winter..the cold, the snow, the Christmas season..now I'm finding that Summer does make me smile but I'm still not in love with heat and humidity..so fall would truly have to be my choice. I love crisp cool days and fires in our fire pit..Halloween, pumpkins, and festivals...I just wish it would stay light longer!
That's a difficult questions, as certainly that all have their incredible facets. But...I'd have to say summer, as it seems much less cumbersome as far as less clothing, more movement. We are not restricted by heavy coats, snow, or ice, and the colors of the landscape increase; though, there is something to be said about the stunning images within a winter garden. Have a lovely day ~ Alexandra
Fall is my favorite season because I love the colors, cooler weather, football atmosphere, sweaters, outside around a fire pit. Nothing better.

ReplyDeleteI love summer for all the reasons everyone has said but mostly because I can walk the dog without having to put on a coat, gloves, hat and boots.

ReplyDeleteI so love Winter! Winter in QLD Australia is gorgeous! Not too cold, and a reprieve from the horribly long HOT summers!

ReplyDeleteIt's a toss up between Spring, when new life begins or Fall. Everything is so pretty then.
