The little nest at the store was partly on the ground today (I believe the wind blew it out for the 2nd time!) and I kept watching for the sweet mama bird to return and rebuild it AGAIN. I left the remains hoping she could use them for the remodel! So sad! Hope your birdies are all ok!marejohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03903554421867897659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4923368625647031806.post-77796038720091908202013-07-20T17:00:25.385-05:002013-07-20T17:00:25.385-05:00We had the same thing happen in an artificial arra...We had the same thing happen in an artificial arrangement I hung in a basket on the wall outside our door. The babies apparently got too heavy for the fake greenery to hold all four of them and when we came home we found a similar situation, no question what had happened. BUT, while cleaning up, when hubby went to pick up the overturned nest, there was a survivor. He gently and securely repositioned birdie and nest and after about 24 hours later, the parents returned and finished raising the baby. It was one of the saddest things I've ever seen, after having watched the eggs and baby birds for so many weeks. It is what it is though and I suppose if this didn't happen our neighborhoods would be so overrun with birds, we would be unhappier still. It's all in The Plan.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05293768327215520595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4923368625647031806.post-77956159824268445422013-07-20T16:14:43.323-05:002013-07-20T16:14:43.323-05:00Ohh, oh, oh.
